H.E.R.B.I.E., we have lift-off! The working title for the MCU’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot seems to tease a cosmic adventure featuring a familiar face.
News about the MCU’s Fantastic Four film has been kept close to the chest by Marvel Studios. However, it seems as though fans finally have a working title. According to a report by TheCosmicCircus, the working title for the reboot is “Blue Moon”. The title likely serves as a nod to The Blue Area of the Moon in Marvel Comics.
The Blue Area of the Moon is an odd piece of Marvel Comics history. First explored by the Fantastic Four back in the 1940s, The Blue Area is an artifical city built in the Luther Crater of the moon and serves as the home of Uatu the Watcher. It’s unclear if Uatu himself will appear in the MCU reboot, but it’s almost certain the film will take Marvel’s First Family to corners of the multiverse not yet seen!
What we know about the Fantastic Four movie
The Fantastic Four reboot is expected to be a fresh take on the classic Marvel characters, with a new cast. Matt Shakman is directing the movie from a screenplay by Josh Friedman. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.
John Krasinski played the Earth-838 variant of Reed Richards in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but his future as the character is currently in doubt. Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt has said that she’s hopeful we’ll see the actor back as Richards for Fantastic Four.
Fantastic Four opens on May 2, 2025. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
