Gal Gadot is reportedly returning to play Wonder Woman in DCEU films that are going to be released in the near future.

Fans of the DCEU are often in a state of uncertainty in regards to the current path of the franchise. While the last few years have given them some films (and one HBO Max series) that have been received quite well from critics, constant regime changes have been causing some behind-the-scenes drama, and the recent cancellation of Batgirl has left the morale amongst the fanbase pretty low this week. However, fans should expect to see Gal Gadot returning as Wonder Woman not just in a third standalone film, but in upcoming films as well.

Heroic Hollywood’s founder and editor-in-chief Umberto Gonzalez participated in a Twitter Space with Erik Davis to discuss the near future of DC Films, specifically the DCEU in regards to the plans for certain films and characters. When asked about Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Gonzalez expressed that fans shouldn’t have to worry about her leaving the role of Diana Prince anytime soon:

“Oh yeah, for sure. She’s in a couple other movies, and I’m not going to spoil them… She’s in a couple of other movies as well, currently, that are due for release. She’s a team player, so I think she’s going to be around for a while, I think it’s safe to say.”

What’s the next DCEU appearance for Wonder Woman?

If Gal Gadot has already filmed scenes for upcoming DCEU films that are already shot, that leaves five options: Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, The Flash, and Blue Beetle. If I were to wager, it would make sense to see Wonder Woman appearing in both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash. In regards to the Shazam! sequel, actress Rachel Zegler teased the possibility of Gadot appearing in that film, while an appearance by the actress in The Flash would make sense, given her connection to Justice League members Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Barry Allen (Ezra Miller).

Here is the synopsis for the DCEU film, Wonder Woman 1984:

Patty Jenkins returns to direct the next chapter in the story, which finds Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) living and working among mortals, remaining selfless in a vibrant era of excess and “having it all.” But her own values are challenged as she reunites with a lost love while stepping into the spotlight to help humanity escape a dangerous world of its own making. Also starring Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen.

Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, the DCEU film stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielson, and Robin Wright.
