A new trailer for the upcoming Dwayne Johnson DCEU film Black Adam dropped at San Diego Comic-Con.

After over a decade of preparation and hype, Dwayne Johnson is finally suiting up as Black Adam in the character’s first cinematic outing. Johnson, along with much of the cast of the upcoming film, were present at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con for a presentation in Hall H that hyped up the future of the DCEU.

The first trailer for Black Adam debuted last month, in which we finally got a glimpse at what Dwayne Johnson’s Man in Black will bring to the DCEU, whom the actor often states that the power hierarchy of the franchise will be changed. Now, this special trailer that dropped at San Diego Comic-Con gives us an even larger look at this new aspect of the franchise, including new footage of the Justice Society of America (JSA).

Can’t get any bigger than The Rock.

The DCEU has often been subject to criticism amongst critics and some audiences. Although the franchise has celebrated some critical successes such as the first Wonder Woman film, the first Shazam! film, and The Suicide Squad, the franchise has also had just as many films with mixed-to-negative reception such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Wonder Woman 1984. However, audiences have plenty to look forward to with Black Adam, especially since this is clearly a passion project for Dwayne Johnson, who has expressed a desire to satisfy fans, including those in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con.

Here is the synopsis for Black Adam:

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the DCEU film stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.

Black Adam opens in theaters on October 21, 2022. Be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the upcoming film, as well as the future of the DCEU and other exciting news from San Diego Comic-Con, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content.
