The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau shared what George Lucas’ primary concern with Grogu was.

Grogu has skyrocketed into becoming one of the most iconic Star Wars characters ever after his debut in The Mandalorian. Grogu is also one of the biggest additions to Star Wars since George Lucas exited the franchise.

Jon Favreau famously shared a photo of George Lucas holding Grogu when the Star Wars creator visited the set of the series. In The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian (Season Two), Favreau recalled what Lucas was worried about with the new character:

“I had a talk with George, at one point, about the Child, and his main concern was that the kid has to have a proper amount of training.”

In The Book of Boba Fett, George Lucas’ wish to see Grogu train was honored. The sixth episode of the series sees Grogu train with Luke Skywalker before going back with Din Djarin. It’s also teased that Grogu was trained at the Jedi Temple decades earlier before Order 66.

Here is the synopsis for The Book of Boba Fett:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, and Kathleen Kennedy are all executive producers on The Mandalorian spin-off with episodes directed by Rodriguez, Favreau, Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The series stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals.

The Book of Boba Fett is available on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of Grogu, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
