A new G.I. Joe film is in the works at Paramount which is currently being labeled as a follow-up to the upcoming Snake Eyes film.
Hasbro and Paramount are revamping their film properties in a big way. While it could be several years before we see any of these projects come to life, the companies are laying the groundwork for several projects that could hit theaters for years to come. This includes a follow-up to 2018’s Bumblebee, a widerscale Transformers reboot that is rumored to be a Beast Wars film, and a G.I. Joe spinoff film that will focus on the character Chuckles. First on this docket, however, is the Snake Eyes film which apparently already has a follow-up in the works.
Details on this upcoming followup are sadly being kept under wraps but it is said that it won’t so much be a direct sequel to Snake Eyes but rather something that will expand upon it and take audiences deeper into the G.I. Joe universe. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce the untilted follow up with Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse in talks to pen the script.
