His answer may surprise you!

Hayden Christensen Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

Hayden Christensen revealed how he felt about the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy.

When it comes to discourse surrounding movies, perhaps no film franchise has had the most tension in that regard quite like Star Wars. Following the release of the Original Trilogy from 1977-1983, new eras have since been released, with both the Prequel Trilogy and the Sequel Trilogy having been subject to intense scrutiny amongst fans at the time of their respective releases.

Fans may forget, but although the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy era is enjoying a renewed sense of appreciation amongst fans that grew up on those films, upon their release, many fans have expressed their intense dislike of George Lucas’ three films. Jokes regarding the quality of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones in particular was constant, and criticisms against the performances of actors like Hayden Christensen were also common.

Nowadays, much of the scrutiny made against Star Wars amongst some certain segments of the fanbase is directed at the Sequel Trilogy, which may be in contention for the most polarizing reception to any modern blockbusters in recent memory. Although the films have its share of fans (much like the Prequels did, mind you), J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson’s films are often subject to heavy criticism, particularly in regards to the films’ stories. Interestingly enough, Hayden Christensen shared his thoughts on the films.

While promoting Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen was in an interview with Alleef Ashaari in which he was asked about his thoughts on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, and how it reflected on the legacy of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. And for some, his answer may surprise you:

“Yeah, I really enjoyed the Sequel Trilogy. It was great the way that they honored this character. I really enjoyed everything they’ve been up to, and it was fun for me just getting to go back to be a fan and just watch these stories like everybody else.”

Hayden Christensen is enjoying his return to Star Wars.

While some of the most hardcore haters of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy may question Hayden Christensen’s comments here, it is safe to say that he certainly has a love for the franchise simply as a fan. Also, the fact that the actor is pleased to return to the franchise after years of heavy criticism against his performance, perhaps this can eventually lead to the cast of the new films to return sometime down the line for another chance at telling a compelling story in the galaxy far, far away.

Here is the synopsis for Obi-Wan Kenobi:
