HBO Max Adds Over 120 New Movies To Streaming Service

WarnerMedia just added over 120 new movies to the current lineup for HBO Max.

The new streaming service launched last week, offering subscribers all 10 seasons of Friends, as well as access to many DC titles such as Wonder Woman and Justice League. Despite this, the new streaming service’s launch was still described as “lackluster” by analysts. To kick things into gear before HBO Max debuts upcoming projects such as a Green Lantern series from Greg Berlanti, and Justice League Dark from JJ Abrams, the streaming service has just added a bevy of new films such as The Goonies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and X-Men: First Class.

While many of these titles should be enough to excite subscribers, the streaming service’s biggest announcement came prior to its launch with the confirmation that Zack Snyder’s Justice League would be coming to HBO Max sometime in 2021.

Warner Bros. is expected to spend at least $20-30 million in order to bring the director’s cut of the 2017 film to fruition. Snyder is in the process of reassembling the original cast and post-production crew to record additional dialogue, finish the film’s visual effects, and complete the score. While Zack Snyder will be bringing his vision for Justice League to HBO Max, the format of which it will be released has not yet been determined as its possible the director’s cut will be put on the streamer as one four-hour film or divided up into six chapters.

Here’s the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the director’s cut of Justice League and be make sure to check out and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content!
