James Gunn recently shared that he might be developing two more projects for DC in addition to Peacemaker season two.
Between what James Gunn has done with The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker and what Matt Reeves has accomplished with The Batman, DC is on a roll as of late. The two filmmakers are also sticking around as well.
Matt Reeves is working on several Batman-related projects for Warner Bros. while James Gunn is doing Peacemaker season two and another mysterious TV series for DC. Gunn recently joined Neil Vagg’s podcast, where he hinted that he was working on yet another project for DC outside of Peacemaker:
“I know where it goes emotionally and we’re figuring out the plot stuff. Frankly, I’m working on another DC thing, and maybe another one. So we’ve got a couple of different things we’re trying to balance with the story.”
Here is the synopsis for Peacemaker:
PEACEMAKER explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of executive producer James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it!
The series was created by James Gunn, who wrote all the episodes and directed five of them. The first season of the HBO Max series consists of eight episodes, with Brad Anderson, Jody Hill, and Rosemary Rodriguez also directing episodes. Clint Mansell and Kevin Kiner also composed the DC show’s score.
The HBO Max series stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick.
All episodes of Peacemaker are now streaming on HBO Max with the second season in development. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding James Gunn’s upcoming projects, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
