DC Studios has a strong team behind it! James Gunn has shared a new photo with his DC Studios partner Peter Safran on the set of the upcoming Superman reboot.
The upcoming DC Universe Superman film is currently filming in the Norwegian archipelago Svalbard. While James Gunn has been hard at work directing the project, producer and co-chair of DC Studios Peter Safran decided to stop by and take a visit. A fresh behind-the-scenes photo posted on Gunn’s Instagram shows the two trying to stay warm in the frozen tundra.
While it’s unclear what scene is currently being filmed in Svalbard, recent posts by James Gunn suggest that Peter Safran may be visiting the set of the Fortress of Solitude. While not stated by name, Gunn told a local paper that an ice fortress will be one of the first scenes in DC Studios’ Superman film, suggesting a return to the big screen for one of the most iconic locations in the DC Universe.
Peter Safran wasn’t the only important person to visit James Gunn on the set of Superman. Perhaps even more pivotal to the success of the reboot than the DC Studios co-chair, Gunn recently posted a picture of an adorable dog relaxing on set. While some fans think this may be the dog to play Krypto in the DC Universe, it’s more likely than not just a furry friend Gunn found while exploring Norway.
James Gunn and Peter Safran will be traveling all across the globe for this upcoming Superman reboot. While scenes are currently being filmed in Norway, the DC Studios crew will be returning stateside soon to shoot in Cleveland and Cincinnati, both historical cities when it comes to the history of the Man of Steel.
Peter Safran will also be supervising another James Gunn production in the coming months as Peacemaker season 2 begins production, with filming for the series taking place concurrently with the Superman reboot. While some may see this as a plate stacked too high, others see a buffet coming in 2025 for DC Universe fans!
