Suicide Squad director David Ayer is one again defending Jared Leto’s Joker look.
Jared Leto’s Joker look has received a lot of criticism, but Suicide Squad director David Ayer continues to defend it on his social media pages. Earlier this month, Ayer shared an image comparing comic book artwork of the Joker with Jared Leto’s take on the iconic DC Comics villain, critisizing those calling his appearance “not comic book accurate.” Now, Ayer is saying that Leto’s Joker look “worked better when he was scary” and that “softening him broke the illusion,” suggesting that Warner Bros. toned down the actor’s performance while editing the movie.
