Writer and director David Ayer recently revealed that his version of Suicide Squad is almost complete.

Since the news broke that Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League will finally be getting released on HBO Max, fans have been looking at what other films could follow. Another DC Comics film that notably went through several cuts is Suicide Squad with director David Ayer recently saying that it isn’t his call on whether his version ever sees the light of day.

With the announcement of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it was also reported that the filmmaker will be getting around $20-30 million to finish it. David Ayer shared on Twitter how much of his Suicide Squad cut is completed and it sounds like it might be much further along than the Snyder Cut:

“Of course it exists. And it is almost complete except for some visual effects.”

Here is the synopsis for Suicide Squad:

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, and Scott Eastwood.

Suicide Squad is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding the DC Extended Universe and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content in the future!
