Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow‘s cast just got a little more radical! Jason Momoa breaks his silence on joining the DC Universe as Lobo.
There may never be another casting announcement with the sheer amount of aura as Jason Momoa revealing he’ll be playing Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The actor has been the most popular fancast for the Main Man for nearly a decade, with even Momoa himself believing he was playing the character when he was first cast as Aquaman. This culminated in Momoa announcing that he was cast in the dream role on Instagram, with the simple caption of “They called”.
The actor has been mostly silent following the announcement that he would be joining the cast of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Jason Momoa only broke his silence when James Gunn posted a picture of Lobo on his Instagram to celebrate the actor’s return to the DC Universe. Momoa left a comment under the post, proclaiming it was a “dream come true” and using the Hawaiian expression of gratitude “mahalo.”
Jason Momoa in reply to Gunn’s IG post marking his Lobo casting:
“FINALLY. DREAM COME TRUE. MAHALO BRO ❤️❤️❤️” pic.twitter.com/4gDAWd5hWF

Jason Momoa’s Future As Lobo
Even though Jason Momoa was only just cast as Lobo, fans already know quite a bit about the character’s role in the DC Universe. A recent report revealed that the character will have a substantial role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, despite not appearing in the comic it was originally based on. Bullet Train and Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has also already come out stating he’d want to make a solo movie revolving around the character.
This isn’t the first fans have heard about Lobo getting a solo movie. Earlier this year, a rumor surfaced stating that a feature film focused on the Main Man was in the works for the DC Universe. While Jason Momoa’s name wasn’t attached explicitly at the time, it’s likely that he’ll be taking on the titular role if the film goes into development following his role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
