Cable may end up being in Deadpool and Wolverine after all! Josh Brolin teases his return as the iconic anti-hero in the MCU.
Josh Brolin has been open about not being asked to return in Deadpool and Wolverine. However, it seems his tune has changed in recent interviews. When speaking with Etalk about a potential return in the MCU, he admits that he did recently thank Ryan Reynolds for giving him some work.
“I don’t know where it puts me. I’d like to know, though, because a lot of people are asking. Was I there? Did I forget?” Brolin explained. “You know, Ryan Reynolds hit me up the other day and he said, ‘Congratulations on Dune.’ And I said, ‘Thanks for the work,’ and I’m not sure what I meant by that.”
Some may be confused why Josh Brolin is suddenly switching up about his involvement in Deadpool and Wolverine. However, recent reports have suggested the newest round of reshoots for the film were done to add more cameos. Could this have been what prompted his return as Cable? Or is Brolin simply giving MCU fans the ringer for continually bugging him!
Deadpool and Wolverine’s Cast Of Marvel Cameos
Josh Brolin’s character is far from the only hero rumored to make their return in Deadpool and Wolverine. In fact, there seems to be a whole team of them! Recent reports suggest a new team will be formed in the film consisting of Dafne Keen’s X-23, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, and Jennifer Garner’s Elektra to take on Cassandra Nova for the fate of the MCU!
Heroes aren’t the only ones making their return in Deadpool and Wolverine. Villains such as Pyro, Toad, and even The Punisher‘s Russian are all seemingly making their debut in the MCU with the upcoming project. Heck, even Taylor Swift is said to be in the film! If Josh Brolin doesn’t return as Cable at this point, it may simply be that Ryan Reynolds doesn’t like him!
