‘Logan’ Utilises R-Rating In New Promo Image

Logan Wolverine 3

The third film in the Wolverine stand-alone franchise, recently revealed to be simply titled Logan, has been in full flow with marketing material in the past week or so. Along with the title announcement came an official poster, and shortly after that we were treated to a long-awaited promotional image of Sir Patrick Stewart’s Professor X from the film.

With the latest reveal, the film’s official, semi-mysteriously titled Instagram (@wponx) account has posted a rather gory promo image for the film featuring a severed arm clutching a shotgun, displaying exactly why Logan has been gifted an R-Rating.

With this, I think it’s safe to say between the footprints in the dirt and the to-the-point caption that the person who was previously wielding the shotgun just happened to cross paths with Logan‘s titular character, of course otherwise known to a broader audience as Wolverine.

Although the posters and promo images might do well at getting some fans excited for the film, if they’re still not getting you all too pumped you can read about some of the plot details that we are aware of so far, which might perk up your interest, by clicking here.

James Mangold’s Logan is released March 3, 2017 and is set to see both Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart reprise their previous X-Men franchise roles, alongside Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal.

I hope when they reboot the Wolverine character they use an actual costume with the mask and everything. I always wanted to see that in the movies, but it never happened.

    • Napi

I agree with you. It is time for a full-body costume!

    • Jason Scarpelli

If they reboot the character I ain’t watching it.

      • SAMURAI36

Why not? Jackman is gonna retire after this, so what would you prefer that they do?

        • Jason Scarpelli

          Leave it alone

          • SAMURAI36

C’mon dude. You can’t expect them to not have Wolverine in their franchise. That’s like expecting DC to not give Affleck the role of Batman after the TDK trilogy.

As long as these characters are still popular, they will always have to reboot and update them.

          • Jason Scarpelli

Affleck already has the role as Batman so you’re theory doesn’t make sense. Plus the don’t ‘need’ to reboot it, they’ll just ‘want’ to for money reasons.

Come on there could be any number of actors who could play a good Wolverine and I want to see a different take on him

          • SAMURAI36

I think you missed my point. Affleck didn’t get the role of Batman till 2014. Prior to that, Christian Bale was Batman for 7 years.
Should they have hung up the cowl after Bale, based on your logic?

          • Jason Scarpelli

An actor playing the same role for 16 years is different then an actor being replaced every film or 2.

          • SAMURAI36

It sounds like you’re moving the goal posts now. Bale was Batman for 7 years. These actors can’t carry these roles forever, but the show must go on, and these franchises will get updated, ad infinitum.

You think RDJ is gonna be Tony forever? There has already been talks of rebooting the roles.

I agree that Jackman was a great Wolverine, but nothing can be done, if he chooses to retire. That doesn’t mean that the character should be retired. The best you should hope for, is that the next person that carries the role, does an even better job than Jackman did.

          • Jason Scarpelli

If they reboot the MCU, I’m boycotting Marvel for life lol

          • SAMURAI36

            LMAO, okay then.

      • LOGOS

There’s no way they’re not gonna reboot the character. He’s too popular.
