New images from Amazon’s upcoming Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series show off the various characters and its version of Middle-Earth.
In what now feels like a lifetime ago, Amazon officially announced that it was developing a new series based around J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-Earth Universe with a focus on The Lord of the Rings canon. For some time it was unclear what form the upcoming series would take until it was revealed that it would be a prequel series focusing on the period where the Rings of Power were forged. Things began to take shape in 2019, with the series casting a young version of Galadriel and numerous other characters.
Recently the series has begun its marketing campaign. This has included revealing new posters for the various characters and an early teaser trailer with the first full trailer dropping on Superbowl Sunday. Ahead of this, however, Amazon through Vanity Fair has released numerous images for its upcoming Lord of the Rings series. This includes but is not limited to showing us younger versions of Galadriel, Elrond, and numerous other original characters. You can see the images below:
Amazon Studios is producing The Rings of Power in cooperation with the Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins, and New Line Cinema. J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay are serving as showrunners and executive producers on the series. The ensemble for the show consists of Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman.
