Hayden Christensen responds to the theory if Mace Windu is still alive in the Star Wars universe.

The newest Star Wars Disney Plus series Obi-Wan Kenobi recently dropped its finale, and fans are still buzzing over the return of the Prequel Trilogy stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader respectively. Love for the Prequel Trilogy era is at an all-time high, and some are hoping for the return of some more Prequel elements, with some even anticipating the return of Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu.

When we last saw Mace Windu, it was in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which he is shown attempting to stop Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid). Unfortunately, he ends up falling to what appears to be his death. However, some are theorizing about his potential return to the franchise, and even Hayden Christensen has reacted to the prospect.

In an interview with MTV News, Hayden Christensen reacted to the theory that Mace Windu may have survived that fall in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and that he’s still running around the galaxy somewhere:

“If Sam Jackson wants it to be true, I wouldn’t want to disagree with tha.t”

Somehow, Mace Windu returned?

Samuel L. Jackson has previously expressed a desire to return to Star Wars as Mace Windu. In an era where both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker’s actors have returned for an opportunity to redeem their time on the Prequel Trilogy in the eyes of some fans who were initially disappointed with those films, the more we see elements of that era brought back, the warmer the reception to George Lucas’ Prequels will become. Who knows, maybe we’ll even see the return of Natalie Portman as Padme Amidala, or even Ahmed Best as Jar Jar Binks.

Here is the synopsis for the newest Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi:

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. The series will also see the return of legendary Star Wars composer John Williams, who scored a theme.
