James Gunn and Peter Safran are set to start fresh with their brand new DC Universe. However, it seems as though Margot Robbie is still set to return as Harley Quinn.

This isn’t the first time Margot Robbie was speculated to return as Harley Quinn in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe, with Gunn previously speaking out about a rumor stating she was barred from appearing due to a contract with Marvel Studios. Her return has seemingly been confirmed by inside MyTimeToShineHello who claims Margot will 100% be returning:

James Gunn and Peter Safran’s approach of keeping some actors, like Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, while recasting others, like replacing Henry Cavill as Superman with David Corenswet, has split fans. Some appreciate that their favorite actors are being retained for future roles, while others wish the DC Universe would start from scratch. Though given Margot Robbie recently made history with Barbie, it’s not likely she’ll be getting booted anytime soon.

A new era for the DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran now in charge of DC’s film, television and animations efforts at Warner Bros. Discovery, bringing the company’s comic book-related assets under one roof. Gunn is said to be focusing on the creative direction of the DCU while Safran is handling things that are related to business and production.

Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are currently in various stages of post-production at Warner Bros. Discovery, with both DC Universe movies slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
