Netflix has revealed a new teaser trailer for its upcoming Resident Evil series, showing two different timelines.
Way back in early 2019, it was revealed that a new Resident Evil television series was in development by Netflix. As time went on, more and more details emerged, revealing that the series would focus on the children of Albert Wesker. Now at long last, a teaser trailer has dropped.
The trailer itself is rather vague as to what is going on but seems to indicate that there are two different timelines within it. One takes place in New Racoon City in the present time where the zombie epidemic seemed to originate. A future timeline seems to take place in a more traditional The Walking Dead type world with the main character struggling for survival against endless zombie hordes. Here is the synopsis for the upcoming Resident Evil series for Netflix:
Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.
The upcoming series stars Lance Reddick, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Paola Nuñez, Siena Agudong, and Adeline Rudolph. Supernatural producer Andrew Dabb is the showrunner, executive producer, and writer of the series with Mary Leah Sutton. Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film also serve as executive producers and Martin Moszkowicz serves as a producer.
Resident Evil will debut on July 14th on Netflix. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming show and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
