Peter Sarsgaard Still Has Work To Do On Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’

The actor will have to return to the London-based set before moving onto Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Lost Daughter.

Peter Sarsgaard has revealed he still has work left to do on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman which is being directed by Matt Reeves.

Production on Warner Bros. and DC Film’s new Batman film got underway on-location in the United Kingdom back in February before the project was forced to halt filming due to the Coronavirus pandemic in March. Production is expected to resume soon under new safety rules and guidelines instituted by the government.

Sarsgaard himself is set to play Gil Colson, a Gotham City district attorney who has trouble telling the truth in the film. Speaking with Sirius XM, the actor explained he had yet to complete his scenes, and opened up about the challenges of continuing production amid the global health crisis.

“We’re going to go back and finish it,” Sarsgaard said. “It’s going to take time. Movies like that are way harder you know? They’ve got so many people on set, so many locations and moving around and logistical sh–. On Batman, we’re going to have to have rules where we like, I mean, I don’t even understand. On a typical Batman set, there’s tons many people, and so many jobs. Who knows.”

You can check out the full interview with Sarsgaard below where he also reveals he will once again have to shave his head and beard to complete the work for his role. Sarsgaard was planning on filming his scenes for his next project, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Lost Daughter, with a beard.

Plot details for The Batman are under wraps but the project will be centered on Pattinson as a younger Caped Crusader, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. The film is also expected to be the first installment to a new trilogy with Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding Robert Pattinson’s The Batman as we learn it. You can also subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content in the future!
