Rachel McAdams will officially reprise her role as Christine Palmer opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange 2.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Rachel McAdams return to play Christine Palmer opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange when the film arrives in 2022. Fans are already eager to see where the sequel goes, considering Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has a role in the film as well as Cumberbatch’s role in Spider-Man 3. It really seems like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is opening up, which makes the potential for Doctor Strange sequel all the more interesting.

Rachel McAdams reprising her role is a surprising announcement, since back in February it was reported the star wasn’t involved with the film, but according to Deadline sources have said she’ll return to play Christine Palmer again. Comic fans might be familiar with Palmer, as she’s one of the characters known as Night Nurse -often providing medical help to superheroes. The Deadline report noted that it’s not clear how big Rachel McAdams’ role will be in the film, so it could be a smaller appearance than the first time around.
