Riverdale has officially come to a close. However, it seems as though stars Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, and Lili Reinhart have all found a new home at DC as the Gotham City Sirens.

DC Studios has released a slew of exciting casting decisions in recent months (At least, prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike). This has led many to wonder what other exciting characters will be cast in the new DC Universe, with two of the most requested being Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Riverdale stars Madelaine Petsch and Camila Mendes recently brought the two characters to life for Halloween, joined by Lili Reinhart as Harley Quinn to create the Gotham City Sirens:

For as much as fans made fun of Riverdale, the show was immensely popular, supercharging the careers of much of its cast. Many have been waiting for them to jump over to other comic book projects, with the show’s star KJ Apa even previously being attached to star in a Wonder Twins film at DC Studios. Only time will tell if Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, and Lili Reinhart follow in his footsteps.

The Future of the DC Universe

James Gunn and Peter Safran told journalists that their vision for the DC Universe includes locked scripts, wiggle room, and a unified storyline across film, television, animation, and video game projects. The two explained that the DC Universe could bring back elements from previous DC regimes, meaning that their eight-to-year plan is not a full reboot.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe Flash, and Blue Beetle have all been released following the announcement of the new DC Universe, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom still slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
