Could Steven Yeun be headed back to the MCU? A new rumor suggests that Marvel is in talks with the former Thunderbolts star for an entirely new role.
MCU fans have been on a rollercoaster when it comes to Steven Yeun. It was a welcome surprise when it was revealed that the beloved actor, best known for his roles on The Walking Dead and Beef, would be joining the Marvel universe in Thunderbolts. However, due to the strikes delaying the project, Yeun had to drop out from his role in the film, which was rumored to be the main villain Robert Reynolds, aka the Sentry.
However, that doesn’t mean Steven Yeun’s MCU journey is done for good. In talking about his departure from Thunderbolts, he admitted that he would love to join a Marvel movie sometime in the future when his schedule aligns. However, he didn’t give any details on what role he might want to play, especially since he feels he might have ticked off some high-rollers by dropping out so late.
Is Steven Yeun Back In Talks With Marvel?
While Steven Yeun may have thought that it was too early to reconnect Marvel after the Thunderbolts debacle, it seems the studio had a different idea. A new rumor from scooper ItsMyTimeToShineHello suggests that the star is already in talks to join the MCU, though what role he might be playing after dropping out as the Sentry hasn’t been disclosed.
With Marvel currently working on their X-Men reboot for the MCU, it’s possible the popular fancast of Steven Yeun as Beast could finally be coming to life. However, the studio is also putting a large focus on the Hulk family in their recent project, potentially giving the actor a chance to play another popular fancast in Amadeus Cho. Though with the rumor giving so little information, it’s pure speculation what the former Thunderbolts star might be in talks for.
