Russell Crowe has joined the cast of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter film.
Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is set to expand dramatically in the coming years. Fresh off the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony is set to launch Morbius this April, which stars Jared Leto in the lead role as the living vampire. The next film in Sony’s pipeline is a Kraven the Hunter film, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the titular role.
It looks like Sony has its eyes set on filling up the roster with heavyweights as The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Russell Crowe will star alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson for Sony’s Kraven the Hunter film. The outlet maintains that details on Crowe’s character and being kept under wraps, but sources suggest that the star will play Kraven’s father. Furthermore, many of the main characters are to be Kraven’s family members. Looks like we’re getting a whole bunch of hunters!
Russell Crowe is best known for his performances in A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator, and Man of Steel, where he portrayed Jor-El. Crowe is the first major star to join the Aaron Taylor-Johnson film. It remains to be seen which other stars Sony courts for its latest franchise.
Sony is also moving forward with a Madame Web film, which will reportedly see Dakota Johnson in the lead role.
