The cat’s out of the bag: Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine for Deadpool 3 and star Ryan Reynolds may have already given away the plot.
Ryan Reynolds recently dropped the shocking news that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his iconic X-Men role and bringing Logan to the MCU’s Deadpool 3. Fans unsurprisingly have a lot of questions and the stars, even more unsurprisingly, were not very forthcoming with answers.
However, while the film’s plot remains shrouded in mystery, an old tweet from Ryan Reynolds may have already revealed what Wade Wilson and Wolverine will be up to in Deadpool 3.
Deadpool & Wolverine Hit The Road
In a tweet from early 2021, Ryan Reynolds teased the Deadpool 3 plot that was in consideration prior to Disney’s acquisition of Fox’s movie studios and it still featured Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
While promoting the mental health campaign Bell Let’s Talk, Reynolds said the original plan for Deadpool 3 was a story about Wade Wilson and Logan on a road trip together. He said the film would be presented “Rashomon style,” referencing an Akira Kurosawa film in which the events of the story are seen multiple times, from the perspectives of different characters.

In case there was any doubt over how serious he was, when another tweet alleged the Deadpool star was “most likely joking,” Ryan Reynolds responded “I’m not.” With Hugh Jackman now officially on board for Deadpool 3, maybe the road trip movie is about to come to fruition after all.
