Ryan Reynolds seemingly confirmed the return of Leslie Uggams as Blind Al for Deadpool 3.

Deadpool’s first cinematic solo outing introduced audiences to a character known as Blind Al, played by Roots and Black Girl star Leslie Uggams. As her name suggests, Blind Al is a visually impaired old woman who happens to be the roommate of the Merc with the Mouth, and the two share a love-hate relationship of sorts in the Deadpool movies from 20th Century Fox.

Earlier this week, Leslie Uggams urged her Twitter followers to catch Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project, a new Netflix movie that also features Avengers stars Zoe Saldana and Mark Ruffalo. Reynolds responded by telling Uggams that he’d see her soon. On top of that, Reynolds included three sword emojis in his message, hinting that Blind Al is returning for Deadpool 3.

Shawn Levy is set to direct Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3 after previously collaborating with the 45-year-old star on The Adam Project and last year’s Free Guy. If the tweet above wasn’t enough to convince fans that Leslie Uggams is reprising her role as Blind Al for Deadpool 3, Levy also shared that he can’t wait to meet the actress.

Deadpool 3 is the first entry in the series being co-produced by Marvel Studios after its parent company Disney acquired the X-Men and the Fantastic Four characters from 20th Century Fox. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who worked on the first two films with Ryan Reynolds, are currently polishing the script for the third one, which was written by The Molyneux sisters.

Here is the synopsis for Deadpool 2:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

The last Deadpool movie was directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds. It also stars Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand and Jack Kesy.

Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Deadpool 3 and the future of the MCU, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
