EA and Respawn revealed the first trailer for the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the next Star Wars video game coming to consoles at Star Wars Celebration today in Chicago.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order takes place after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and is set to hit shelves this Holiday season. It follows a Jedi Padawan who managed to survive the purge of the Jedi after Emperor Palpatine put Order 66 into effect. The third person action-adventure hails from EA and Respawn and has been directed by former God of War director Stig Asmussen.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has the potential to be a big win for EA after the less than stellar releases of Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront II, the latter of which was met with controversy due to its original loot box system. EA fell under fire from fans who criticized the way the game handled its in-game microtransactions. Although EA responded to the controversy, ultimately improving Star Wars Battlefront II‘s in-game economy, the loot crate system ultimately cast a shadow over the game that diminished its value.
