‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 To Release In Two Volumes, Debuts In May

The gang will return... twice!

The fourth season of Stranger Things will release in two separate volumes.

Netflix has finally confirmed when Stranger Things‘ fourth season will release and their strategy is… unorthodox. Instead of dropping the season all at once, Netflix will be going for a staggered approach that separates the new batch of episodes into two different volumes.

This news comes after Netflix spent the morning releasing four different posters over the course of an hour. All four posters have culminated into one sprawling one, which teases the season’s release. Vol. 1 hits the streaming service on May 27, while Vol. 2 will come out just over a month later on July 1, just before Independence Day. Not too bad of a wait. After all, we waited over three years for this season.

Those thinking that the series will end with the fourth season will be pleased to know that Netflix has officially confirmed the fifth season will be the last. It remains to be seen when the fifth season of the hit series goes into production.

Here is the synopsis for the third season of Stranger Things:

“It’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer’s heating up. School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart. Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, and Cara Buono.
