The Duffer Brothers revealed they might go back and change Will’s birthday to fix an error in Stranger Things 4.

The first volume of Stranger Things 4 is currently streaming on Netflix, with the second volume arriving next month. In the first part of the fourth season, fans quickly noticed that Will’s March 22nd birthday wasn’t acknowledged, despite the season taking place then and showing a calendar with the exact date.

Will’s March 22nd birthday was established back in Stranger Things season two. While speaking with Variety, series co-creator Matt Duffer revealed they are thinking about pulling a George Lucas and changing Will’s birthday to May:

“We’re thinking his new birthday, is going to be May 22, because “May” can fit in Winona [Ryder]’s mouth [in the Season 2 scene where Joyce says the date of Will’s birthday]. So that would be us George Lucas-ing the situation. It’s too sad! And it doesn’t make any narrative sense. But we were talking about it yesterday, and I think we’re going to George Lucas that. We have George Lucas’d things also that people don’t know about.”

Here is the synopsis for the fourth season of Netflix’s hit series:

“It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.”

Created by the Duffer Brothers, the Netflix series stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn.

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 will drop on July 1st. Stay tuned for the latest news surrounding the season, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
