Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi shared a particular Easter Egg related to Dwayne Johnson.
In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, Taika Waititi not only returns to the director’s chair, but he also reprises his role as Korg. In the film, he joins the titular God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth), King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) on an adventure to stop Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). As expected, Korg is involved with some of the film’s broader humor, and a particular moment towards the end of the movie is an example of that, specifically since it’s a reference to Dwayne Johnson.

At the end of the film, Taika Waititi’s Korg is shown finishing his story, in which he also reveals that at some point, he finds his own significant other in Dwayne. Obviously, many fans assumed this was a not-so-subtle reference to Dwayne Johnson, to which Waititi confirmed on his Twitter after a fan share some hilarious fan-art:
Here is the synopsis for the film:
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Taika Waititi and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, the Thor solo film stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.
