A new take on the Teen Titans?

Has the plot of Teen Titans already been revealed? A new rumor has seemingly obtained the synopsis of the DC Universe’s first team-up.

A Teen Titans project is officially in production for the DC Universe with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow writer Ana Nogueira attached. While details about the project have been sparse, Production Weekly has revealed a Teen Titans logline that seems to suggest a much different take on the team than many fans were expecting.

“The Teen Titans are further apart than ever before…until Damian Wayne recruits Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and the new Kid Flash to join him in a fight against his own grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul.”

This logline seems to suggest that the DC Universe will be taking inspiration from the DC Rebirth run of Teen Titans, with the roster being almost identical to the 2016 incarnation of the team. This also means that the Kid Flash referenced in the logline is Wallace West, the fourth version of the character who now goes by “Ace”.

What This Teen Titans Logline Means For The DC Universe

This logline has a lot of implications for the DC Universe going forward if true. The phrase “further apart than ever before” implies that there was an existing Teen Titans team prior to the events of the film, likely one involving Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy, putting them relatively older than Damian Wayne.

The key word is “if”, of course. It’s important to note this logline is identical to the 2016 Teen Titans comic run previously mentioned. While it’s possible Ana Nogueira used the logline as a baseline to pitch the project to James Gunn, it’s not likely this would be released in any official capacity. More likely than not the logline being published was a mistake on Production Weekly’s part while trying to find a summary for the DC Universe film.

This also wouldn’t make sense from a timing perspective. James Gunn has admitted that Batman: The Brave And The Bold doesn’t even have a script yet. So why would the DC Universe’s Teen Titans movie rely on the character of Damian Wayne if not even the heads of the studio know where his story will end up? While an exciting logline to speculate about, it likely is far from the truth.
