‘The Witcher’ Season 3 Gets A Thrilling New Poster

One last hunt!

Henry Cavill The Witcher Geralt of Rivia Netflix

Fans have eagerly been awaiting any news about the upcoming season of The Witcher, which is set to be Henry Cavill’s final turn as the titular character. A brand new poster of the show’s third season has been released, teasing big news for tomorrow.

The team behind The Witcher has been mostly silent following the double-whammy the franchise suffered this past December. The prequel show Blood Origin was released to middling reviews and, more importantly, it was announced that Henry Cavill would be leaving the show. Following months of silence, Netflix has released a brand new poster for season three, promising big things on the horizon:

With the season set to premiere sometime this summer, it’s likely whatever news is being teased tomorrow will be a first look at the show’s third season. Regardless of if fans will be watching the show for the final time or if it will be seen as just another step in its journey, the third season of The Witcher is definitely something to keep an eye on.

The Future of Geralt of Rivia

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich went on to add the following about Geralt’s The Witcher season four arc: “Geralt’s big turn is about giving up neutrality and doing anything that he has to do to get to Ciri. And to me, it’s the most heroic sendoff that we could have, even though it wasn’t written to be that. Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in Season 4. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that’s an understatement.”

Last week, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed that The Witcher season three premiere is titled “Shaerrawedd,” a reference to an iconic Elven-location from the Witcher books. Stephen Surjik is directing the episode, working from a script by Mike Ostrowski. It’s scheduled to premire sometime in Summer 2023 on Netflix.

The first two seasons of The Witcher are currently available to stream on Netlfix. Based on the series of books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski and developed for television by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, The Witcher also stars Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey.
