Tom Hardy might be on his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Reshoots for Venom: The Last Dance have fans speculating about the future of the Sony franchise.
Fans didn’t pay much attention to reshoots for Venom: The Last Dance. While a few videos were shared of Tom Hardy running around New York, there wasn’t much to learn. However, with it recent reveal that that Knull will be the true villain of the upcoming film, Marvel fans have taken a closer look at the BTS photos to see if they could spot any connections to the MCU or Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man.
This revelation clicked something in the minds of fans. The trailers for Venom: The Last Dance paint the film as taking place primarily in New Orleans and Las Vegas, along with the space between them. There’s no real space in the story for Tom Hardy to take a detour to New York. That is unless these reshoots were to add a post-credits scene of his hero joining the MCU to face off against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
How Venom: The Last Dance Connects To The MCU
Given how quickly Tom Hardy was ejected from the MCU the last time he made his way across the studio barrier, fans are wary about how permanent a potential crossover at the end of Venom: The Last Dance will be. However, Knull is a multiversal threat in the original comics, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man were recruited to take him down in a potential future project.
These last-minute plans could be a result of Sony’s diminished faith in live-action Spider-Man projects following Madame Web flopping at the box office. Taking a Knull crossover onto the end of Venom: The Last Dance could be setting up a final hurrah for the failed villain universe, finally bringing Tom Holland’s MCU hero into contact with the villains he was set up to face for nearly a decade.
Venom: The Last Dance opens in theaters on October 25, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Venom series and makes sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
