Knull is loud and proud in Venom: The Last Dance! A new TV spot shows off why the God of Symbiotes has his eyes set on Eddie Brock.
Ever since it was revealed Knull was going to make his live-action debut in Venom: The Last Dance, fans have been wondering what role he will play in the project. Rumors have suggested he won’t be much more than a cameo, meaning that whatever his motivation is must be setting up for something bigger headed into the future.
That motivation seemed to be answered in a new TV spot for Venom: The Last Dance. At least, partially. The new footage revealed that Knull is after Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote because they have something he wants. It also confirms that Knull is the creator of Venom, and likely all of the symbiotes, just like his comic book counterpart.
Knull’s Role In Venom: The Last Dance
Knull has a rather complicated history in the comics, and it’s not likely all of it will be adapted into Venom: The Last Dance. However, the reveal in the TV spot that Eddie Brock has something he needs suggests the origins for the symbiote may be similar to the comics. Knull originally created Venom and the other symbiotes to corrupt natural life. Given that Eddie Brock turned Venom into a hero throughout his trilogy, it’s likely Knull wants to take back his symbiote to return him to his natural purpose.
This lines up with set footage from Venom: The Last Dance suggesting that Eddie Brock and Venom will be finding their way to New York City. It’s possible that the two go on the run from Knull after the events of the film, with the God of Symbiotes seeking them out for revenge. It would only makes sense that, if Venom is trying to defeat his creator, he’ll seek out his kind’s greatest foe: Spider-Man.
