Vincent D’Onofrio had the perfect response to his return as Kingpin in the most recent episode of Hawkeye.

In the penultimate episode of Hawkeye, it was finally revealed the big boss was none other than Kingpin, with Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio reprising the role. This marks the second time a character from the Marvel television era pre-Disney Plus has made their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first was in Avengers: Endgame, when James D’Arcy reprised his role as Edwin Jarvis from ABC’s Agent Carter.

Despite the rumors, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin appearance in Hawkeye looks very similar to what he looked like in Daredevil. However, it’s expected that D’Onofrio will be playing a new version of Kingpin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward. D’Onofrio has teased his involvement in Hawkeye before, but now that he has officially returned, he broke his silence on Twitter:

The reveal of Vincent D’Onofrio’s return as Kingpin comes after Kevin Feige revealed Charlie Cox will also be back as Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cox is expected to make his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye:

Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh also returned in her Black Widow role.

The first five episodes of Hawkeye are now available to stream on Disney Plus, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays.
