Warner Bros. Discovery is sending House of the Dragon, The Sandman, Harley Quinn, and others to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

San Diego Comic-Con is returning to form with its first in-person event since 2019. So far, we know that Amazon is bringing The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and that Marvel Studios will be back in Hall H, but what about the newly-formed Warner Bros. Discovery?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Discovery will bring House of the Dragon, The Sandman, Harley Quinn, Gotham Knights, Riverdale, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, and Cartoon Network to San Diego Comic-Con this year. Grant Gustin’s The Flash and Superman & Lois will not have panels at the convention.

What About DC Films?

No details were shared regarding Warner Bros. Discovery’s plans for their theatrical slate. During the pandemic, Warner Bros. notably threw DC FanDome virtually, with the last event happening back in October.

THR shared that plans are still being worked out, but that DC League of Super-Pets, Black Adam, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods would most likely be featured since Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Blue Beetle are considered too far away. DC will also not have a floor presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, but there will be panels covering the future of publishing.

Here is the new synopsis for The Sandman:

There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.

The series stars Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Jenna Coleman, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Patton Oswalt, and Mark Hamill.

Wonder Woman co-writer Allan Heinberg serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer on Sandman. In addition to their duties as writers, Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer are also on board as executive producers.

The Sandman will hit Netflix on August 5, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding San Diego Comic-Con 2022, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
