Why Kraven The Hunter Was Cut From ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

A controversial cut!

Tom Holland Spider-Man: No Way Home Kraven The Hunter

Kraven The Hunter is set to make his big screen debut in his self-titled solo movie by Sony Pictures late next year. The writers for Spider-Man: No Way Home have revealed the controversial reason why the infamous villain didn’t make it into the MCU film.

There was a lot of speculation that Kraven The Hunter would be the main villain of Spider-Man: No Way Home prior to release. While that obviously didn’t come to fruition, the film’s writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers recently revealed they had plans to bring the villain into the MCU, only to be told that Kraven The Hunter was “unavailable until Sony established him in a solo movie.”

This one restriction by Sony may have changed the entire course of the film. Instead of the multiverse swinging adventure that Spider-Man: No Way Home turned out to be, early reports suggested the film would feature the titular hero fleeing from Kraven The Hunter following his identity being exposed at the end of Far From Home.

It’s not likely fans will see that storylin revived in the Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel. However, they may very well see Kraven The Hunter in the MCU once Sony Pictures releases their solo project. On the other hand, it could be another Morbius situation where Marvel Studios just decides to ignore the movie.

What’s next for Spider-Man?

What does the future hold for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? The success of Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened up a world of possibilities for the fan-favorite Marvel character. The movie ends with Peter erasing himself from the memories of his loved ones in order to protect them from his enemies. This sets up an interesting dynamic for future Spider-Man movies, as Peter will have to navigate a world in which he is not known as Spider-Man.

Rumor has it that Tom Holland has signed on for multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The future of the Spider-Man series is currently unclear, but it is likely that Marvel will continue to explore the multiverse concept that was introduced in No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
