A new report has revealed that the official trailer for the Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League features the DC Comics character DeSaad.
Last year, Zack Snyder revealed that Darkseid’s servant and master torturer DeSaad was cut from Justice League. A few months later, Darkseid actor Ray Porter confirmed a report claiming that Peter Guinness provided the voice of DeSaad in Snyder’s version of the movie.
Now, Beyond The Trailer‘s Grace Randolph brings word that the official trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League includes DeSaad. Randolph watched the sneak peek, which is expected to premiere later this month during the DC FanDome event, after interviewing Snyder. When asked if she’s going to react to the finished version of the trailer, Randolph said the following about it and DeSaad:
“Yes, I will because I haven’t seen rendered. And I will admit at the beginning of the reaction that I’ve already seen it unrendered. I wanna see DeSaad’s face… I only saw like an outline.”

Previously, in a comment on Instagram, Nick McKinless revealed that there was apparently an entire fight sequence between Ares and a younger Darkseid when he first invaded Earth in the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League. The actor has been cast to portray Ares in the sequence and said he trained for four months to get in proper shape for the now uncredited role.
Darkseid almost played a larger role in the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League and subsequent DC Extended Universe films. However, after Joss Whedon assumed directorial duties during post-production and oversaw extensive re-shoots for Justice League, Darkseid was removed from the theatrical cut and Warner Bros. reassessed their plans for future DCEU films following the underwhelming reviews and box office gross of the film.
Zack Snyder’s original 5 movie-arc for the DCEU was also said to include events like the murder of Lois Lane along with half the Justice League and Darkseid taking control of the heartbroken Superman with the Anti-Life Equation.
Here is the official synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
