Zack Snyder has revealed that he wanted to expand into Superman’s family and bring Supergirl in the DC Extended Universe.
Zack Snyder’s first Superman film, Man of Steel, is one that will forever be debated among fans and critics over its quality. The film currently holds a 56% approval rating on Rotton Tomatoes with people divided on its violence and darker take on the Superman mythos. However, as it turned out, the director had larger plans for Superman and his Kryptonian family which included Supergirl.
Earlier today Zack Snyder hosted a viewing party for his 2013 film, Man of Steel where it was revealed that his cut of Justice League would be released on HBO Max. During the screening, he also revealed that he had plans to expand into Superman’s family and liked the idea of Supergirl getting her own stand-alone film. He did stress, however, that he didn’t have a script planned in his head or anything like that. You can see the full clip of the viewing party below:

Zack Snyder’s last entry in the DC Extended Universe was 2017’s Justice Leauge. Here is the official synopsis for the film:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
