Brad Pitt reflected on his cameo in Ryan Reynolds’ Marvel sequel, Deadpool 2.
Deadpool is known for his irreverent sense of humor and knack for breaking the fourth wall. Given the character’s self-aware humor, Ryan Reynolds took advantage of that when it came to making the film and promoting it. Given his savviness, both films poked fun at superhero tropes and even showcased some surprise cameos. In the case of Deadpool 2, one major cameo was with Brad Pitt.
Inarguably one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, Brad Pitt played The Vanisher, one of the numerous characters that joined Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool to form his X-Force. Unfortunately for The Vanisher, he was one of the last major casualties, which in his case was due to him getting electrocuted to death.
Pretty easy work for Brad Pitt
While promoting his new film Bullet Train, Brad Pitt reflected on shooting that cameo for Deadpool 2:
“What was shooting that like? Pretty much, easiest thing I’ve ever done. [David Leitch is] an old friend of mine and he used to be…he was my stunt double starting with Fight Club and all the way up till about 2004. And then he went off and became a really good director, which is rare. Rare.”
Here is the synopsis for Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 2:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Directed by David Leitch from a script written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.
Deadpool 2 is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Brad Pitt’s upcoming blockbusters, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more video content.
