Showrunners behind Marvel’s Daredevil when it streamed on Netflix reacted to the news that it will receive a Disney Plus revival.
Back in 2018, Netflix cancelled Daredevil after three acclaimed seasons. The Marvel series was widely considered by critics and fans alike to not only be the best of the streaming giant’s collaborations with Marvel Television, but a near-perfect adaptation of the character. Now, it looks like after appearances from both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in other MCU projects, a new series is moving forward on Disney Plus.
Yesterday, the news broke out that a revival of Daredevil is moving forward, with Matt Corman and Chris Ord attached to write and executive produce the new Disney Plus exclusive. In reaction to this news, Erik Oleson, the showrunner for Season 3 of the Netflix production tweeted the following:
Steven DeKnight, who served as showrunner during the first season of Netflix’s Daredevil also affirmed Erik Oleson’s excitement:
How different will this new Daredevil series be on Disney Plus?
Obviously, Disney Plus is a more family-friendly streaming service than Netflix, but then again, the original Daredevil series moved to the streaming platform unaltered, with parental controls added to the service when that, along with the other Defenders-related series also part of the platform. One shouldn’t expect anything as violent as the original series, but perhaps something more along the lines of Moon Knight and even Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which went a little further in its violence than previous MCU properties.
All three seasons of the original Netflix adaptation of Daredevil are now available to stream exclusively on Disney Plus. Be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the upcoming revival, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content!
