Dune: Part Two has officially entered production as the first behind-the-scenes image reveals the sequel’s new logline.
The new image follows a set photo of Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan that surfaced online last week. This is, however, the first image to be shared officially by the Dune production team on social media.
The image shows a clapperboard on the sands of Arrakis – possibly taken in a studio or at one of Arrakis’ many real-world stand-in locations – signalling the cast and crew are back to work on the franchise.
The Fight Continues In ‘Dune: Part Two’
The first official set photo from Dune: Part Two was shared on Twitter from the verified Dune movie account. The image was accompanied by the caption “We’re rolling. Production on Dune: Part Two has begun.”
The clapperboard shown in the photo bears the “Part Two” subtitle, as well as a new logline for the Dune sequel – “Long live the fighters!” This is presumably a reference to the Fremen forces being gathered by Paul Atreides to fight off the Harkonnens.

Last year’s Dune: Part One adapted the first half of Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel. Part Two will pick up where it left off, with Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides venturing into the deserts of Arrakis with the Fremen. The film is also set to introduce Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha.
Here is the synopsis for Dune:
Set in the distant future, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides whose family accepts control of the desert planet Arrakis. As the only producer of a highly valuable resource, control of Arrakis is highly contested among the noble families. After Paul and his family are betrayed, the story explores themes of politics, religion, and man’s relationship to nature as Paul leads a rebellion to restore his family’s control of Arrakis.
Denis Villeneuve directed Dune from a script he co-wrote with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts. The film stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, and David Dastmalchian.
Dune is now available on home media formats, with Part Two hitting theaters on October 20, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming sequel and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
