Brand new promo art for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gives a new look at Gargantos.

The teaser trailer for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showcases some exciting new imagery. With a filmmaker like Sam Raimi at the helm, the film looks to evoke some of the director’s trademark horror sensibilities as seen in his iconic Evil Dead films and even in his iconic Spider-Man trilogy. The film also looks to explore some horrifying new characters including Gargantos.

In the comics, Gargantos is a giant tentacled sea monster, and based on the teaser, he looks to be a big threat to both Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez). Seeing a character quite literally larger-than-life like Gargantos in live-action form in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is quite exciting to see.

Some brand new promotional artwork for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been revealed. One of the more intriguing images involves Gargantos, giving the giant sea monster a particularly striking icon:

With many expecting to see a new Super Bowl TV Spot for the sequel later today, it will be exciting to see if we get a new look at Gargantos in action. If the first teaser trailer that debuted at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home was any indication, we are in for something mysterious and action packed!

Here is the synopsis for the upcoming film:

“In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams.

The highly-anticipated sequel hits theaters on May 6, 2022. Meanwhile, you can see Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong reprise their roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is currently playing in theaters now.
