‘Doctor Strange 2’ Updated Synopsis Tease ‘Dangerous’ Multiverse Realities

"Things just got out of hand..."

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Benedict Cumberbatch

A brand new synopsis for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness tease dangerous alternate realities.

Based on the first trailer for the highly-anticipated Marvel Studios film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the titular hero (Benedict Cumberbatch) embarks on perhaps the most perilous journey any Avenger has embarked on in a solo film. With the perils of the Multiverse in which characters know frighteningly little about, the sorcerer will deal with the horrifying realities of the unknown.

With Sam Raimi at the helm, the dangerous implications of the Multiverse will likely bring on some elements of horror that have been previously unseen in the current MCU. Thanks to the acclaimed directors roots in the horror genre, it’s safe to say that the Multiverse will unleash horrors upon the franchise that Doctor Strange will have to reckon with alongside a few of his allies.

You can read the updated synopsis for the new film down below:

“In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”

After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange will likely deal with the consequences of his actions after helping his old friend Peter Parker (Tom Holland) with his ill-fated first wish, followed by the tragic implications of his second wish. Either way, the film will unleash quite a bit of horror into the entire MCU.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6, 2022. Meanwhile, you can see Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong reprise their roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is currently playing in theaters now.
