Gal Gadot expressed interest in seeing a crossover movie between Marvel Studios and DC Films.
Marvel and DC fans have often had a rivalry for decades, and just like any rivalry based on brand loyalty, it can get pretty messy. However, that hasn’t stopped both comic book houses from collaborating together in the past, including special crossover events. And when it comes to the cinematic universes, there are some actors and actresses that are involved with both franchises and many others that have working relationships with people involved in both as well. Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot is one of those figures who is pretty friendly with members of both Marvel Studios, and her home team at DC Films.
Gal Gadot made an appearance at the D23 Expo with her Snow White (and rumored Shazam! Fury of the Gods) co-star Rachel Zegler to promote their upcoming film. Access Hollywood asked Gadot about whether a crossover between Marvel Studios and DC Films would ever happen, and it’s safe to say that she’s down for the opportunity:
“Maybe we could do Wonder Woman appears in the Avengers and the Avengers appear in Wonder Woman. I’m open, I’m all about love, and I like my friends both at DC and Marvel, so we’ll see.”
Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel team-up when?
Gal Gadot is not the only member from the DC Extended Universe to express interest in a crossover with Marvel. Her Red Notice co-star Dwayne Johnson, who is set to appear in Black Adam next month, also expressed interest. The two performers both have ties to Warner Bros. and Disney, and given their clout with both studios, perhaps this could be a way to negotiate some short of agreement between the two for what could be the most ambitious collaboration amongst studios since 1988’s Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Gal Gadot last appeared in the DC Extended Universe film, Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here’s the synopsis:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
Both versions of Justice League are available to stream on HBO Max.
