Jacob Batalon has commented on the news of Jamie Foxx returning as Electro in Marvel Studios’ next Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland.

Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 3 is shaping up to something no one expected with the addition of Jamie Foxx, who is reprising his role as Electro. It’s still unclear on whether Foxx’s Electro will be the same one from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, or a new version of the villain. Foxx recently suggested that he will not be blue this time around as Electro, but we’ll have to wait and see what he means as production kicks off next week.

Not much else is known about the next Spider-Man film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but ComicBook.com recently caught up with Jacob Batalon, who will return as Peter’s best friend Ned. During the interview, Batalon expressed his excitement for Jamie Foxx joining the cast by saying:

“I’m a huge fan of Jamie Foxx. Like, literally, I grew up watching his things so being able to work with all these influential people in these movies has been like a godsend. I truly can’t believe … it’s really because of Spider-Man that I get to meet all my heroes. Just having Jamie Foxx, he’s so prolific, he’s this very diverse … he can just do everything. It’s so awesome to really just know that he’s in our project. That’s so awesome.”
