Peacemaker is getting a brand new look! James Gunn shows off a redesigned helmet for the hero in season 2 with a behind-the-scenes photo taken during production.
Older DC fans may find it hard to believe that the character Peacemaker is getting a season 2 of his own television series. However, James Gunn’s magic hands for obscure characters have managed to turn this D-List jobber into a household name. While much of the love comes from John Cena’s stellar performance, flowers must be given to the character’s costume and helmet having one of the best combinations of design and execution in any comic book project.
Yet it seems James Gunn isn’t happy with perfection. The new DC Studios co-chair will be taking another crack at the helmet’s design for season 2. The director posted a BTS photo taken during production to celebrate Peacemaker’s 58th anniversary, which shows off a new look for the costume that leans much closer to its original comic counterpart.
Everything Fans Know About Peacemaker Season 2
James Gunn has managed to keep details about Peacemaker season 2 surprisingly close to his chest. However, given the production was filming on the streets of Austin, Texas, there are a few details fans were able to obtain. Namely, BTS photos taken by passersby suggest that the series will feature a multiverse plotline when it returns, which aligns with the idea that only this second season will be canon to the brand new DC Universe.
A.R.G.U.S. is also set to have a bigger role in season 2 of Peacemaker. Press releases have unveiled a number of stars joining the DC Universe for the project, with nearly all of them being members of the shadowy organization led by Amanda Waller. James Gunn himself even unveiled a new logo for the group in a separate BTS photo posted to Instagram.
