ARGUS is making their way to the DC Universe! James Gunn revealed the first look at the organization’s new logo in a set photo for Peacemaker season 2.
Production is well underway for season 2 of Peacemaker. The call sheet for the project has been growing fast, with many acting juggernauts joining the DC Universe as agents of ARGUS. Of course, with new characters comes a new logo, with James Gunn revealing the new symbol for the government agency in a set photo posted to his Instagram.
It’s clear that James Gunn is going with a comic-accurate take on the organization’s logo in Peacemaker season 2. ARGUS’ emblem looks ripped straight out of the pages of DC’s original comics. Fans should get familiar with it, as it’s clear that this set photo is the first of many, many times it will be seen across the big and small screens of the DC Universe.
A New Era For ARGUS In The DC Universe
While ARGUS has played a supporting role in prior incarnations of the DC Universe, James Gunn seems to be bringing the shadowy organization into the limelight. Not only does this set photo confirm that they’ll be having a big role in Peacemaker season 2, but the upcoming Waller series is likely to focus solely around the government agency and the workings within.
This isn’t to mention all of the connections the new DC Universe has to Maxwell Lord. The villain has had a long history with ARGUS in the comics. While it’s not likely he’ll have a direct relationship with them in projects like season 2 of Peacemaker, it’s possible that James Gunn is setting up the start of a Checkmate storyline, which is an extra-governmental team combining the two entities’ resources.
