Does James Gunn have bigger plans for Peacemaker? John Cena recently danced around a question regarding his future in the DC Universe.
It’s no secret that John Cena’s Peacemaker has been a runaway success for DC as a brand. With James Gunn now in charge of the new DC Universe, fans are expecting the character to appear in every project he can for the foreseeable future. When asked about if he has any more appearances on his roster, Cena did his best to dodge the question.
“Do you know who James Gunn is?” Cena joked at Comicpalooza. “He’s got this look when you make him mad, and it’s actually indescribable, but I don’t want to see it ever again. So I’m just gonna say, no comment.”
Given James Gunn is his boss, it’s understandable why John Cena would be so gunshy in speaking about his future as Peacemaker. However, given the character was already introduced to the big players of the DC Universe at the end of season 1, the cat may already be out of the bag for Gunn’s plans.
Where Peacemaker Could Appear In The DCU
Aside from the obvious answer of Peacemaker season 2, there’s plenty of places John Cena could pop up in the DC Universe. James Gunn is currently directing both the second season of the acclaimed show and Superman at the same time. It wouldn’t be out of the question for Cena to pop over to the other set very quickly to make a cameo.
It’s also all but confirmed that John Cena and the rest of the Peacemaker cast will appear in Waller, especially since the series was supposed to be a supplement to the show while James Gunn worked on Superman. Though beyond that, the potential is truly endless as to where Cena could appear in the DC Universe. That’s what makes it so fun for fans!
