Is Kelsey Grammer already on his way back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The X-Men actor speaks about his potential return to the Marvel universe as Beast.
While fans had their issues with The Marvels, one of the most exciting moments in the film was the post-credits scene revealing Kelsey Grammer’s return as Beast. However, given the film’s poor box office performance, many feared his X-Men cameo in the MCU may have been a one-and-done. Luckily, it seems that conversations have already begun to form about what Grammer’s role could look like in the future of Marvel’s cinematic universe.
“There’s nothing I can talk about,” Grammer told Comicbook.com in a recent interview. “What I do know is that there was a huge sort of outburst when I showed up at the end of The Marvels, I guess it was. The response was really almost… it wasn’t unexpected. There’d be some response, but it was pretty overwhelming, and so there are some conversations.”
It’s not shocking that Marvel is already having conversations with Kelsey Grammer to return. The studio has been teasing plenty of X-Men actors making their way into the MCU, from Grammer himself to Hugh Jackman. While they likely won’t be sticking around for long, it’s clear there’s something bigger cooking than fans might not expect.
The X-Men’s Future In The MCU
Given the overwhelmingly positive response (and not to mention box office success) of Deadpool and Wolverine, it’s all but confirmed that Marvel will be bringing back more of the original X-Men into the MCU. Especially given the studio seemingly held back on bringing in some massive cameos into the film, they’re likely saving characters like Kelsey Grammer’s Beast to make their grand return in a future Avengers film.
Yet it’s not likely Kelsey Grammer will remain as Beast in the MCU. Despite his return, Marvel is going full-steam ahead with its reboot of the beloved mutant team. While details have been sparse, it seems the studio is set on recasting almost every big-name X-Men that it can get its hands on for the project, albeit with one key exception that fans may be disappointed is absent from the upcoming adaptation.
