She-Hulk: Attorney at Law star Mark Ruffalo discussed the impact that the series may have on Deadpool 3.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law features Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) breaking the fourth wall. Naturally, Marvel fans often associate that ability with the Merc with a Mouth, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds). And with Deadpool 3 on the horizon for the MCU, some are curious to see how this new series may tease what’s to come for Ryan Reynolds’ beloved character. Well, Mark Ruffalo discussed how this may set the stage for that film.

Mark Ruffalo spoke with IGN to promote She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and addressed how Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy may find inspiration from Jennifer Walters’ fourth wall breaking, and how it may impact the way Wade Wilson does so in Deadpool 3:

“I mean, listen, you know… Ryan [Reynolds] could take that anywhere… and I trust that he will. The one thing about Marvel is they pretty much let the filmmakers make the film they want to make. I mean sometimes it doesn’t work out, but every experience I’ve had, it’s been like that. I mean, what we did with Thor: Ragnarok… they had thrown out, basically, Thor and totally reimagined him. And Hulk… for that matter. So I feel confident that between [director Shawn Levy] and Ryan, they’re gonna do something that’s gonna be very satisfying to the Deadpool people and… I do feel like She-Hulk… sort of does say, ‘Hey, we’re open enough, and we’re free enough and, we’re interested enough to really go anywhere people have the will and the pleasure to go.'”

Deadpool 3, MCU-ified.

The first two Deadpool films were set within 20th Century Studios’ previously-established X-Men universe. Now that Marvel Studios has the rights back to the Mutants and the Fantastic Four, they will be implemented into the canon of the MCU. With how She-Hulk: Attorney at Law utilizes fourth wall humor, it will be interesting to see how Deadpool 3 utilizes it within the context of the MCU.

Mark Ruffalo currently appears as Dr. Bruce Banner in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Here is the synospis:

“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.”

Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

New episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law premiere every Thursday on Disney Plus.
